Tips to get the most out of it
A die or a coin
For a die: minimum 1, maximum 6. For heads or tails: minimum 1, maximum 2. If you need several dice at once, raise “How many numbers”.
Draws without repeats
Tick “No repeated numbers” to draw, for example, 5 different numbers between 1 and 50 (like a lottery ticket). If you ask for more numbers than fit in the range, we will let you know.
Truly random
It uses the browser's cryptographic generator (crypto.getRandomValues) and a method that avoids bias, so every number in the range is equally likely.
Decimals and negative ranges
You can use values such as -10 to 10 or 0 to 1 with up to 6 decimals, for example to simulate test data.
Frequently asked questions
How do I generate a random number from 1 to 100?
Leave the minimum at 1, the maximum at 100 and 1 number. Press “Generate new numbers” to get a new one.
Are they really random?
They are generated with your browser's cryptographic randomness source, not Math.random, and modulo bias is avoided. It is suitable for draws and games, although an official draw or one with prizes may require a certified procedure.
How do I get several different numbers?
Ask for as many as you want and tick “No repeated numbers”. With that option each number comes up at most once.
What is the maximum range?
With whole numbers, between -1,000,000,000 and 1,000,000,000; with decimals the supported range is smaller because there are more possible values. You can draw up to 10,000 numbers per run and up to 6 decimals.
