Black Friday 2026: when it is and how to prepare your online store in time

On Friday, November 27, nine out of ten people in Spain will shop online. Here's what you should have sorted out beforehand, not the week of the event.

Black Friday 2026 falls on Friday, November 27, and the Cyber Monday that follows will be Monday, November 30. In Spain, many brands no longer wait for that exact date: Amazon launches its "Black Friday week" seven days earlier, PcComponentes kicks off its "Black Days" in mid-November, and major chains like El Corte Inglés bring offers forward from the start of the month. If you sell online, the real campaign starts earlier than it seems.

Why technical preparation isn't optional

Nine out of ten people in Spain will shop online during Black Friday, and more than half of that traffic comes from mobile. Those shoppers won't wait for your website to load: if the experience fails at the moment of highest demand of the year, the sale goes to a competitor in seconds, not minutes.

What to check before the campaign, not during it

  • Loading speed on mobile, not just desktop — that's where most of the traffic comes from.
  • Hosting capacity to absorb traffic spikes without downtime or slowdowns.
  • A frictionless checkout process: every extra step is an opportunity to lose the customer.
  • Stock and prices in sync if you also sell on marketplaces.
  • Planning Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns weeks in advance, not the week of the event.

The most common mistake: leaving it until the last minute

The same pattern repeats every year: businesses that review their online store the week before Black Friday, when there's no longer room to fix a performance issue without putting the campaign at risk. Serious technical preparation takes weeks, not days, especially if it involves optimizing images, reviewing caching plugins or adjusting hosting infrastructure.
