Tips to get the most out of it
Start with the “Clean up” option
It removes the spaces at the start and end of each line and reduces double spaces to one. It's what you almost always need when pasting text from a PDF or an email.
Spaces you can't see
If a text looks clean but still causes problems, it may contain non-breaking spaces or tabs. Keep the non-breaking space option ticked to treat them as normal spaces.
Removing all spaces
Use it for codes, account numbers, references or phone numbers that you want to compare or paste into a form with no separators.
Line breaks have their own tool
This tool keeps the line breaks except with the last option. To join lines or split them, use the line break tool.
Frequently asked questions
How do I remove double spaces from a text?
Choose “Only repeated spaces (leave one)” or “Clean up”. Any group of two or more consecutive spaces is replaced by a single one.
What is a non-breaking space?
It's a space that stops the text from wrapping at that position (the famous “non-breaking” space). It looks the same as a normal space, but it isn't one, which is why many searches and comparisons fail on it.
Are line breaks changed?
No, unless you choose “Everything, including line breaks”. In the other modes each line is cleaned separately.
Is my data sent to any server?
No. Everything is calculated in your browser and the text never leaves your device.
