Besides Kit Digital there is Kit Consulting, a program managed by Red.es and funded with NextGenerationEU money, with a budget of €300 million within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. It is a separate program, with a different target audience and a different type of support. And one important clarification from the start: as of mid-October 2026 there is no open call. The only one that has ever existed closed on March 31, 2025.
Who it's aimed at
Unlike Kit Digital, which focuses mainly on freelancers and micro-businesses, Kit Consulting is designed for SMEs with 10 to fewer than 250 employees. The voucher is €12,000 for companies with 10 to fewer than 50 employees, €18,000 for those with 50 to fewer than 100, and €24,000 for those with 100 to fewer than 250.
The key difference from Kit Digital
Kit Digital funds the implementation of specific technology tools: a website, an online store, a CRM. Kit Consulting funds something else: strategic advice. An external consultant analyzes your business, designs a digital roadmap, and develops a practical use case tailored to your company, without necessarily implementing anything themselves.

Status of the call in 2026
The call opened on June 18, 2024 and closed on March 31, 2025. The grants were awarded on a non-competitive basis, first come, first served, until funds ran out. Since then the program has been in the execution and justification phase for the services already contracted.
What has changed in 2026 is the legal framework: Order TDF/38/2026, published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) on January 28, removes the program's end date and requires Red.es to reinvest any unspent money in it. That opens the door to a new call, but as of today none has been published and no date has been announced. If anyone offers to already manage your Kit Consulting voucher, be wary: there is nothing to file yet. Official information is published on the Red.es electronic office and in the BOE.
Complementary, not an alternative
The two programs are designed to complement each other: first the strategic roadmap, then the implementation of the specific tools that roadmap points to. Nor is there an open call today for Kit Digital, so the most useful thing for now is to prepare the project: knowing what your business needs so you can apply for the grant the day it opens.
