Kit Digital is still the main public funding route for Spanish freelancers and small businesses to digitalise, but its real status needs clarifying: today you can't apply. The official Acelera Pyme page states that "the Kit Digital Programme calls have ended" (in Spanish), and the last one, with an application deadline of 31 October 2025, is closed, according to the official Recovery Plan information.
So what is the Order TDF/39/2026 everyone talks about? It is dated 26 January 2026, was published in the BOE (Spain's official gazette) on 28 January and came into force on 29 January (BOE-A-2026-2070). It doesn't open a new call or change the amounts: it amends the programme's regulatory rules so it can keep awarding grants with the money left unspent.
What the Order TDF/39/2026 changes
- Validity (article 4). The rules apply to grants called from their entry into force until the funds are completely used up, with no fixed closing date.
- Reinvestment (article 6.3). Red.es will reinvest any unspent budget in Kit Digital itself, even after 2026.
- New award proposals (article 28.8). If there are unassigned funds, the instructing body will draw up new award proposals.
In practice, this opens the door to new calls or to reallocating funds, but none has been announced. As of 27 September 2026, specialist outlets such as Digitalvar still saw no open call and none announced for October.
How much the grant is, by business size
These are the maximum amounts in the latest calls, according to the programme's official information:
- Segment I (10 to 49 employees): up to €12,000.
- Segment II (3 to 9 employees): up to €6,000.
- Segment III (0 to fewer than 3 employees, including freelancers): €3,000 since 14 June 2024; it used to be €2,000.
The amounts of a future call may be different, so treat them as a reference, not a guarantee.
Usual requirements
- Be up to date with payments to the Tax Agency and Social Security.
- Not be classed as a company in difficulty and comply with the de minimis rules.
- Register in the private area of Acelera Pyme and complete the digital self-assessment test before applying.
The rules include further conditions, for example on the type of beneficiary: in the 2024 call, the €3,000 grant did not extend to communities of property owners or professional civil partnerships (comunidades de bienes, sociedades civiles profesionales). Check the exact requirements when the call is published.
How to apply, step by step
When a call opens, the process works like this:
- Register in the private area of acelerapyme.es and complete the digital self-assessment test.
- Browse the solutions catalogue and choose an accredited digitalisation agent.
- Sign the solutions agreement with that agent.
- Apply for the grant on the Red.es electronic office.
What you can do in the meantime
- Register on Acelera Pyme and complete the self-assessment test: it is the first step required.
- Check your situation with the Tax Agency and Social Security, because being up to date is a condition of the grant.
- Decide what you want to digitalise and budget the project. Don't hold up something you need while waiting for a call with no date.
- Follow the official sources: Red.es, Acelera Pyme and the National Subsidies Database.
